Valerie’s House is the only organization in Southwest Florida with the sole mission of helping children grieve the loss of a loved one. The mission of Valerie’s House is to help children and families work through the loss of a loved one together and go on to live fulfilling lives. Valerie’s House is a special place where children connect with one another and learn the tools to heal after they have experienced the death of someone they love. At Valerie’s House, children learn that loss doesn’t have to limit their dreams. Valerie’s House also supports parents and caregivers as they cope with the loss of a loved one. All of the group support programs at Valerie’s House are offered at no cost to the families attending.
• WHY WE SUPPORT VALERIE’S HOUSE •
The Welcome Home Team has partnered alongside Valerie’s House because their mission is something we hold close to our hearths. At age 17, Stephanie experienced the loss of her father and was unaware how to handle the grief of losing a parent. This tragedy also came as a shock to Michelle, who took on the emotional burden of supporting two children who had just suffered suck a loss while also grieving herself. After being introduced to Valerie’s house years later, we knew instantly this was the type of organization we wanted to support. In 2021, Stephanie became a group night volunteer for Valerie’s House in Naples to support children going through a similar situation as her. At the Welcome Home Team, we are proud to announce that a portion of each commission will go to supporting Valerie’s House. When you work with us, you are helping Valerie’s House provide grief support to a child and their family.
